I wanted a 1080p dvd player to make full use of my 1080p LCD TV.
This one gives you a choice of resolutions including 720P & 1080i as well as others. As I Linked it with a HDMI cable it knew I wanted 1080P . Sound quality produced is excellent.Picture much improved with dvds and I have sky HD so suitably impressed.
