Pros ... Set up was very easy, and it plays all my DivX, Xvid titles splendidly.
cons ... for DVD video recording it does not have a fit to size function so you have to guess as to how many titles you want to fit onto a disc and set the appropriate recording mode when recording from TV.
there seems to be no cut / paste editing to cut out commercials,
just a HIDE function.

Rating:  - False advert re Guide plus
Couldn't get guide plus to work,when we called help line Phillips told us that it was no longer available. The recorder mentions guide + both on the box and throughout the instruction manual. No G link cable included and no connection for this on my digi box for it!).
So all in allnot happy as it doesn't even allow you to change channels on timed programmes
