Rating:  - Very slow at performing tasks
This is a decent enough player but it is so so so so so slow at performing simple tasks, to eject a disk from standby mode about 15seconds, the time between putting a blank disk in and being able to record about 45 seconds. And finally if you are planning to play a lot of files using DivX I really would not buy it, it is hit or miss whether the soundtrack and picture are aligned you can watch a film perfect then watch it another time and its out of alignment also fast forwarding sends it out of alignment, ... I have had the recorder for a week and am absolutely delighted. I haven't had any problems using discs between PC and DD-A100X, but I am in the enviable position of having a Liteon SuperAllWrite DVD writer on my PC.
I was having some sound sync problems with DivX files when I first got the machine, but an update of the firmware sorted that out. I thought the fix was only partial because other DivX files still had sync problems but they turned out to be bad transfers - they were out of sync on ... Read More

Bought this a week or two ago from a supplier offering 30 day money back guarantee having read reviews here saying that it does not record from external sources.
I have recorded from an external HDD recorder, internal TV tuner and external VHS recorder all without any problems.
I did have problems trying to record a video which was protected using Macrovision, but I would expect that from a VHS player manufactured in the last 20 years!

Well, I am writing to you 24hrs after having picked up this model brand new from the shops. I queried its size while measuring out the dimensions prior to purchase (H 5.2, D 25, W 28cm) and came to a conclusion that it had the features I wanted so size was irrelevant.
