Rating:  - Very unreliable DVD recorder
I suspect that previous reviewers have reviewed this machine when it is still fairly new. When I got mine I thought it was wonderful. While it functions it is brilliant. My first one worked for about 3 months and then corrupted every disc I used for recording. It was taken away for repair and i heard no more. Rating:  - Fab!
Not being a great technocrat, I needn't have been worried. Connected to cable and TV set, plugged it in and it did the rest. Really easy to use and very clear instructions. A great buy.
Rating: - NTSC Compatible?
I just bought this and it seems pretty good, but although I followed the multiregion instructions helpfully provided here by M Crouch, it still doesn't seem to be fully NTSC-compatible - so it does play region 1 DVDs, but with flickering lines across the image. Is there another code that can deal with this? I'd be grateful for advice if anyone can help!
Rating: - It's a dream to use
I had an initial problem trying to make it region free but once I had sorted that out I was off! It records really easily, converts hard disc recordings to disc at the press of a button & allowed me to convert all my videos to DVD with ease. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Rating: - Multi-region hack
I previously owed a Philips recorder which I found very complicated, this one is so easy to use. I would definitely recommend it.
I found the multi-region hack attached to this item was incomplete.
The full instructions are:
1) Setup button
2) Initial set up screen / enter button
3) scroll along top to System info
4) Enter numbers 1101 on remote
5) enter region 0 for region free
6) Press enter then setup button
