Rating:  - Makes films look beautiful.
Every time I watch VHS I really notice such a difference. First off I don't have any region 1 DVDs so I can't comment on the debate about whether it really is multi-region.
If you want something that is good value, easy to use and will work well, you can trust Sony- by now they do know what they're doing in this area.

My old Sony 325 dvd player has died after years of faithful service! I needed a replacement, so another Sony was the logical choice, but it had to be Multi-Region. Saw this player with it already enabled. Ordered!
I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't be multi-region as the description said, due to the number of negative reviews. I needn't have worried, it plays everything R1, R2, R3 etc, even backup dvds.

Rating:  - Looks Good but not Multi-Region
Just receive done of these and it's not multi-region. It does not read Region 1 DVDs and I have loads of them after living there for a while.
Really cheesed off to put it one way as I have also returned 2 supposed multi-region DVD players to Agros as well.
Any ideas on how to get a multi-region player? If I re-order, will I receive what I ordered?
Or even better, does anyone know how to hack it?

I scored one of these the other day from Amazon & arrived in good condition and fast delivery, so excited to try it out, plug'd it in straight away & turned it on.
It does everything that it says on the tin, BUT, when you turn it on it takes bit to get into the blue Sony startup screen, slowly loading the DVD movie.
Once your in, its all good, BUT when you get an ERROR (Scratch) on the DVD movie, you try turning it off by the remote and on the players LED flash "OFF", but ... Read More

As I said before, I'm incredibly impressed by this budget player. It plays many of my Region 1 discs much better than my Pioneer player, but I have one reservation. It doesn't play ALL of my Region 1 discs.
I purchased the Hammer Horror Series recently. It's an eight film set released through Universal on Region 1. All of the discs are double-sided, two films per side.
