Rating: - Nothing but trouble
This drive, for the price, seems to be a perfect answer when upgrading or replacing your DVD writer. Don't be fooled. I'm on my second drive (a replacement for the first, which ceased to function within days) and already it's performance is coming apart at the seams. Around 2 out of 5 discs are completed perfectly - the rest are, for some reason, written to in a way that renders them useless. This goes for all brands and types - dual layer, plus and minus. I bought this to replace my old CD-RW/DVD drive which had given up from over-use. It arrived, post-free, two days earlier than it should. Half that time was wastefully spent creating an image file on the hard disk. I believe it is possible to send the data straight to the DVD drive, which would bring the time down further.
Everything seems to work fine on my old PII ... Read More
