look elsewhere.
Worked reasonably ok when new, but as time went on more and more problems, ie: discs not loading, drawer refused to open, unreliable recording, froze on playback, extremely noisy in operation, sometimes just refused to record. One of the worst purchases I have ever made. After about 9 months I fed it to the wheelie bin!
Rating: - Useless after a couple of years
I have various cakes of blank DVDs where some have been accepted but the majority (even from the same lot) have not been accepted - a bloody pain!!!!

Fine at first, then oh dear, so many problems. Not reading, not finalizing, jumping, loss of power, to name the most frequent. Before sending it back 2nd time brought a replacement one of another make. When it came back we gave it to our grown son, it gave him a small electic shock, thanks for that lite-on-it.

I bought the DVD recorded about a year and half ago and haven't looked back. I don't know what other customers have done to their machines, but mine continues to work perfectly. The All-Write seems fine, we were lucky enough to happen on some very cheap DVD RW discs which work. Check the Lite-On website for a list of discs it likes. Having downloaded the firmware it also handles every other region very well, including the American R1 and the South East Asian R0 / region free - it even plays odd copied ... Read More
Rating: - Broke down after 9 months - AVOID
I would urge anyone considering buying this machine to seriously consider other options. Whilst there are many good reviews of the product, I am sure that most of them were done in the first month or two of purchase. I also didn't have any problems for the first few months, other than it being noisy, which I could live with. After about 6 or 7 months, things slowly started going wrong, one thing at a time.
