I bought this machine for about £100 around 2 years ago and thought what a bargain - Dual format recording and a good spec. However I have been let by the fact that mine only seems happy recording on DVD+, on the DVD- it loses the sound quality. Now, the biggest let down which many people don't seem to have picked up on is that this machine only records on a format specific to this brand, as recorded discs are not playable on other machines - not helpful if you have recorded that special wedding ... absolutely rubbish! has a mind of it's own...not consistant, only records when it feels like it!!
Rating: - Looks good, but that was all
This unit looked great when I took it out of the box. Unfortunately, my problems began as soon as I plugged it in... as nothing happened. I left it for half an hour and it finally spluttered into life. However, several test recordings later and it's going back to Amazon. It froze on every recording, refused to eject disks and still switches itself off at random. I tried different types of disk and changing fuses but it made no difference. Shame.
Rating: - Good price but not good quality
I bought this to replace a broken Philips. It set up well with no problems. However the picture quality was poor with a distinct green tinge and it lacked clarity. On top of this we could hear sound from a TV channel through the soundtrack for our DVD (Gosford Park to the music of A Fistful Of Dollars). I've sent it back - thanks to Amazon for their very easy returns policy.
Rating: - Not impressed with Ellion
Not over impressed with this machine. Bought it last June, hardly used but when did got itself into a spin and then eventually could not get a picture signal or anything. Was sent another machine under warranty and this did not even work at all, no power no nothing. Would not recommend.
