I think this item is fine and well worth the money - it isn't up there with the absolute best, but it isn't hundreds of pounds either. A good system at a good price.

Rating: - Not Great - But Better than Nothing
When i first got this i was sceptical - and the first one i got did not work - so i sent it back and got a new one. This one did work and still does... The surround sound is not perfect but is better than none at all, the dvd player is not great but the advantages are that it is multi regional, and it plays VCD's which is very helpful. The instructions that come with it are absolutely terrible - there might as well be none - so the setting up is more trial and error. But overall if you do not ... Read More

After looking for the manufacture of this product, I have now discovered very bad reports on the whole system...
I now want to return all of the system...not just the player...
Anybody thinking of buying this ...DON'T...it's rubbish and has cost me more in time and effort than the actual product!

Rating: - The worst DVD player I have ever seen
This DVD player is awful, I was expecting the speakers not to be up to much but expected the player to at least work.
The player had terribble problems playing disks, it had artifacts on the screen 90% of the time, there was a pulsing constantly, frequently there was problems with the sound synching with the action. It also refused to play many new DVD's and could not cope with dual layer discs.

Rating: - better than I expected
Obviously this is not a top of the range unit you would dream about, but for the low price it really did what it said in the tin.
That said, the instruction manual is small and poorly written and people could easily get confused with the 5.1 connections and settings and maybe even return it. If you are persistent it does work.
Picture quality is reasonable, but on the 5 or 6 DVDs I played, I noticed that a few funny picture changes occur every now and then in various small areas ... Read More
