Rating: - Not bad, if you don't mind stroppy
This is a very good player, plays most things I throw at it, with the exception of copied DVDs (you didn't hear me say that).
In response to the person who made a comment about the Macrovision hack, but then failed to supply it, it is as follows:
Power on
Type '9', '9', 'Play', '9' on remote
this displays Macrovision Enabled
select Yes/No as appropriate
select Enter to store the choice

Hi ive had this player for about 9 weeks. All my DivX 4 movies work beautifully (1 and 2 cd rips).
Some MPEG files dont work (keep to MPEG ISO standards and you should be fine).
95% of my discs all work really, really well.
the new zoom feature for divx was sent from God him/herself.
Even PowerDVD can't do that!
there is a keypad macrovision hack as well as for the region......search and ye shall find :)

Rating: - Looks nice, MPEG4 plays ok, and it plays KVCD discs
This player can play MPEG4 videos, but only if it complies to certain restrictions. The MPEG4 format defines a whole load of "profiles" and "levels", the difference between them really being the number of MPEG4 features that are supported. The "simple" profile, for example, only provides the basic parts of MPEG4.
The Ellion, like at least some other MPEG4-capable DVD players, doesn't support all possible profiles and levels. If you get very jerky playback, strange random blockiness and wavering ... Read More
Rating: - Good but.....
Well, I got this DVD/DivX player and was disappointed, my particular model when playing back DVDs has a loud background hiss noise..that after checking the audio setup I have (and replacing the DVD player with a different one) was defiantely the DVD player's fault..and turning up the player's volume had no effect as the hiss increased with it. That said if you get one that doesn't hiss ellion have now released a firmware update that allows DivX zooming and fast forwarding/rewinding and is generally much better.. ... Read More

I'm very happy with this player in general although i have noticed some jekiness in divx's where there is a lot happening onscreen. DVD's and mpegs are faultless, quality of jpegs are stunning from my Canon G3.
Also, checkout the Elion website now for firmware updates, hurrah!
