I bought a non-offical ps2 dvd remote control, the signal was poor and the control was slow (eg. push a button nothing happens, pushed it about 2 times).
When i bought the offical one, i could believe it was a dvd remote control for the ps2, it was just like a tv control and a proper dvd player control. geeez,what can i say ,this remote is needed to upgrade the driver for the older vesions of ps2 ,so i guess it really should have come along wit the complete package. But still its kewl and i guees hope for the ps 3 -has every thing built in and it works to the highest standards coz the ps2 should really have all these features wit out any silly add ons even if it all came in one package -a med quilaty dvd player wit ps3 that had no disc errors-now thats the standard for the next few years -heheeee

Sony have produced a nice expensive feeling remote control here with only one important ommision, there is no power on/off/standby button. Admittedly this not a major problem as you have to go to the machine to change a disc.
The supplied software is not needed as it contains version 2.10 of the dvd software whereas current ps2's come with at least version 2.13, this therefore means there are no compatability problems with any multi region equipment

If you really need a remote for your PS2, this is the one to get. It costs a little bit more than the "unofficial" ones, but it is worth it. I have seen many of the cheap remotes, and the quality does not even come close to this. It also matches perfectly the lines of the PS2. Included is a DVD player version 2.10 upgrade.
